Paediatric Physiotherapy
Paediatric physiotherapy helps children develop and maintain the movement, strength, balance, coordination, and physical skills they need to participate fully in everyday life. Physiotherapists work with infants, children, and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal, or physical needs.
Through playful, child-friendly activities and personalised exercises, treatment aims to build confidence, promote independence, and support children in reaching their individual goals at home, school, and in the community.
Paediatric Physiotherapy can help with many conditions, including:
- Developmental delay and delayed motor milestones
- Torticollis and positional plagiocephaly
- Hypotonia (low muscle tone)
- Developmental coordination disorder (DCD)
- Musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, including sports injuries and gait difficulties
- Cerebral palsy
- Autism spectrum disorder, where movement or motor difficulties are present
- Developmental hip dysplasia
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis
These are just some of the conditions we can help with. If you have concerns about your child’s movement or development, please don’t hesitate to give our office a call to discuss how we can help.
Physiotherapy
Sessions
Our initial paediatric physiotherapy assessments are 1 hour long, giving us plenty of time to get to know your child, understand your concerns, and assess their individual needs. We always work at your child’s pace, adapting the assessment around their comfort, tolerance, and engagement to ensure they feel safe and supported throughout their visit.
