Katie Perkin

Registered Physiotherapist
Katie is a registered physiotherapist who moved to British Columbia in 2018 to follow her passion for downhill mountain biking—specifically to train, ride, and compete in the world-class terrain of Whistler. Originally from Bristol, UK, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Gloucestershire. Her interest in physiotherapy was sparked by a lifelong love of cycling and sport.
In the UK, Katie gained clinical experience treating musculoskeletal injuries within the National Health Service (NHS), as well as supporting road cycling events. This foundation built her expertise in injury management and rehabilitation for active individuals.
Katie is currently completing her APPI Matwork Pilates certification—a physiotherapy-led approach to Pilates that modifies traditional movements to support those experiencing pain or recovering from injury. She has also completed additional training in kinesiology taping and shockwave therapy, further strengthening her toolkit for soft tissue and tendon rehabilitation.
Her clinical focus includes exercise-based rehabilitation, injury prevention, and manual therapy techniques tailored to each client’s goals. Whether you’re returning to work, recovering from sports injuries, or managing chronic conditions, Katie brings a practical and supportive approach to helping clients regain function and stay active.
Looking ahead, Katie plans to pursue further training in dry needling and acupuncture to deepen her knowledge of trigger point therapy and soft tissue treatment. Please note: she does not use spinal manipulative therapy in her practice.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Katie out on the trails or in the bike park—rain, shine, or snow—living the lifestyle she loves to help others return to.
